What is Quantum Shiatsu?
“Quantum Shiatsu is a style of bodywork that recognizes the multi-dimensional aspects of energy in the physical body. Most styles of shiatsu base their theory and practice solely on the ancient principles derived from Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. Quantum Shiatsu goes a step further and incorporates concepts from Quantum Physics that illustrate how the physical body can work as an expanding and contracting field of energetic vibrations. When we access this part of our physical makeup, we open ourselves up to the full spectrum of energy that is available for human use.”

Who is Beck Stephens?
Beck began her studies in bodywork in 1982. She attended the Swedish Institute in New York City and became a Licensed Massage Therapist. This gave her a solid foundation for understanding the physical body. She knew however, that the physical body is only a small part of who we are and she began a 15 year study with Lindy Ferrigno in Zen Shiatsu, that taught her to see the body as a highly organized energy system. This path would take her beyond the study of bodywork and into the complex study of life and reality.
Six years of private practice in Zen Shiatsu ensued. In 1988 she moved to Boulder Colorado and began 25 years of teaching Zen Shiatsu at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy.
In 1988 she also began a 22 year study with internationally renowned instructor Pauline Sasaki, founder of Quantum Shiatsu. Pauline was applying principles of Quantum Physics to assist in the unification process humans were (and still are) undergoing with the emergence of the New Paradigm.
In 2004 Pauline invited Beck to co-teach her Quantum Shiatsu program. With Pauline’s blessing, Beck has now merged the two systems of Zen Shiatsu & Quantum Shiatsu into one clear, complete and streamlined system.
Beck has been a Certified Practitioner and a Certified Instructor with the AOBTA (American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia) since 1990.
